The Ferris State University Marketplace Mall (the “site”) is owned and operated by Ferris State University (“Ferris State” or “Ferris”). This policy explains how Ferris State, its campus organizations, and the third-party service provider who hosts the site (collectively, “we” or “us”) collect, use, share and protect the personal information that we collect through the site. Third Party Service Provider

We utilize the services of a third-party service provider to host this site and to process payments for products and services purchased through this site. When you provide information to our site, that information is being collected for us by our third-party service provider. This website provides information about our campus organizations and the products and services we sell. You do not need to provide us with any personal information if you simply want to browse through our website and learn more about our campus organizations, their products and their services. When you visit our site, we may collect data that your web browser routinely shares, such as your internet protocol address, browser type, operating system, the website from which you came, and the pages on this site that you visit. This will generally be anonymous data that will only be collected on an aggregate basis.

To Provide Requested Products and Services

We may use your contact information to provide the products and services related to this website. For example, if you purchase merchandise on the site, we will use your mailing address to ship your order. Information shared with other campus organizations

When you purchase products or services or make donations through the site, we may share your personal information with that campus organization that will actually be providing the product or service or receiving the donation. For example, if you register for a dinner, we will share your information with the campus organization that is sponsoring the dinner so that organization will know who will be attending, and to allow that organization to successfully host the event.

Marketing Communications

We may use the contact information that we receive to deliver information about upcoming events or products and services of ours that you may be interested in. We may also share your email address with third parties so that they can send you coupons or other promotional information in which you may be interested. And, in certain circumstances, if the products or services you purchase through the site are designed to fulfill governmental certification requirements, we may share your personal information, as necessary, with the applicable state agency to allow the state agency to maintain its certification records.

You will always be given the opportunity to unsubscribe or opt-out of receiving further communications or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in the email communication. Opting-out of receiving further communications from a particular third-party, organization, or university department will only unsubscribe you from receiving further communications from the particular third-party, organization, or university department that sent the communication. But, opting-out of receiving further communications from one third-party, organization, or university department does not amount to opting-out of receiving further communications from all third-parties, organizations, or departments.

Business operations, law enforcement and legal actions

Certain campus organizations may maintain a database about users who make purchases through that organization’s store site that allows the organization to promote and support its products and services and develop a knowledge base regarding users of that organization’s store. We may also use information we collect on this website to monitor and improve the performance of the website.

We reserve the right to release your information without prior notice when we believe it is appropriate to prevent fraud; to comply with law or to cooperate with law enforcement activity or other governmental request; to respond to subpoenas, court orders or administrative agency requests for information; to enforce our policies; to protect the rights, property and safety of our business and of others; or when required or otherwise permitted by law. For example, we may share information with law enforcement if we suspect that someone is using or attempting to use our site for illegal reasons.

Children

While our site is available for all to come visit, you must be at least 13 years old to purchase any products or services, or make donations to our campus organizations. We will not knowingly collect information about children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not submit your personal information. If you are a parent who believes that we have collected information about your child who is under age 13, please contact us at ebill@ferris.edu or at 231-591-3981 with your child's name and address, and we will be happy to delete the information we have about your child from our records and provide information in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
