Prerequisite: HMA Level One Certification (need not be current. but must have been taken at some point previously). There is no "practice time" allocated during this 2-day recertification course. If practice time is needed, it is suggested that the full 4-day course is taken again. Technicians applying for recertification shall submit 5 HMA Test Reports completed within the prior year that verifies they have been active in testing HMA. Test reports should show the binder content, gradation, and crush content. Test reports should be electronically submitted to: icet@ferrris.edu Payment is preferred upon registration. Checks can be made out to Ferris State University ICET and mailed to: 126 Howard St., Big Rapids, MI 49307; or send your ACH deposit form to ICET@ferris.edu for us to complete. An invoice will be sent out upon course completion for any outstanding student fees.
Bring a calculator to class. All other resources and training manuals will be provided in class.
Participant is required to physically demonstrate all the applicable test methods before they can obtain their certification. There is an 8-hour time limit for this practical (hands-on) exam. Should additional accommodations be needed for reasons of disability, please reach out when registering, so we are prepared to accommodate. In some instances, these accommodations may require a return visit at a later date, due to instructor availability.
As instructor staffing arrangements are made before class begins, transfers AND/OR Cancellations must be 2 weeks prior to class start date or payment will not be returned. Ferris State reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to a lack of enrollment. As much notice as possible will be given in those rare instances.
